Background Positive Perspective were approached, requesting an "Outplacement Programme" for a group of approximately 70 staff. The staff members affected by the reorganisation within the Company were of differing grades, disciplines and skill sets. The age range and length of service was also varied. Their last day within the Company was imminent.
The company chose the length; format and content of the programme that they felt most suited their needs.
Content The one-day session is designed to inform, guide, and motivate individuals personally affected by redundancy and outplacement, whilst keeping them in touch with the reality of change. It acknowledges and allows for the fact that people will be at different stages of acceptance and formulating plans for their future.

This programme enabled delegates to clarify, understand and cope with, their feelings surrounding the situation they found themselves in. It focused each person on the best way forward for them, giving practical guidance, information and support. It allowed them to test out 'newly polished' job search skills whilst remaining in a safe environment. It fostered confidence in their ability to go out and 'sell' the product-THEMSELVES! It equipped delegates with an understanding of how 'change' can temporarily affect emotional states and how to best deal with that in a positive way. It motivated people to take the next step to secure their future.
