Positive Perspective Case Study

Kirby Simcox Solicitors - Bristol

A pragmatic appraisal system for Kirby Simcox.

Kirby Simcox Solicitors In conjunction with the partners the process was re-written to make it legal specific and to enable all to use the process as a helpful support for the job each person performed in the firm .

The first attempt was led by one of the Partners and whilst this proved useful it was decided that it would be more effective to call on a "Professional" to organise the day.

This included training all the 45 appraises for a half day to ensure all understood objectives to be mutually agreed, the need for openness in the interview and how the process would be followed up by both parties. We also trained all 15 appraisers for one day including all the partners. Comments from the programme included:

Feedback:

"The trainer was very clear, got his points across very well, and in an interesting manner'"
"Explained everything in detail and made sure we understood'

Amanda Firth, Managing Partner, commented after the training:
"partners and staff all found the training interesting and informative. Subsequent implementation of the appraisal system has produced very positive feed back from staff and has improved morale."
